Top Three Feature Films

                My favourite part of any weekend is always feature film day; that day when I watch a feature film. I always choose between a favourite and a new release, and it usually ends up being a favourite. The top three films of all time in my opinion? Easy. Number one for me will always be Star Wars. Growing up with the films and being obsessed with Star Wars Legos, the whole saga has been etched into my mind. The story takes place a long time ago and tells of a young Luke Skywalker, using the Force and battling the wretches of a faraway galaxy, to overthrow the evil Galactic empire and confront his father; Darth Vader. To me, this saga is an endless classic and every young child should be exposed to it. My number two would be Rebel without a Cause; the long outstanding classic about a young man’s struggle with society and youth (depicted by James Dean). It is a film for every young male, about facing the sad truth about growing up and having to make life changing decisions. Besides, James Dean is the man, and who can deny that? Last but not least, my third top film would be my recently adapted favourite: No Country for Old Men. I just fell in love with the writing of the film and how it was shot. It was such a subtly suspense driven film that really lets you get in the mind of the characters. It tells the story of a man who comes across money in a suitcase from a drug deal gone awry. What he doesn’t know, is that he is being tracked by a cold, heartless, murderer. The way everything came together as the climax of the film was reached, had been executed so flawlessly and all of the little detail was so overwhelming, that it became a newly, lasting favourite for me.
